Children's Park The 10th anniversary of the October Revolution is one of the first parks in the city of Cheboksary .
Before the creation of the Children's Park. On the 10th anniversary of the October Revolution and the N.K. Krupskaya Park on Red Square (formerly Bazarnaya) there was a city market where peasants with agricultural products gathered on horses twice a week - on Mondays and Fridays.
The creation of the park began with the planting of flower beds in 1926-1927. on the Red Square of the city. Before the Second World War, a fountain was working in the park, there were children's play pavilions. There was a monument to I. V. Stalin [1] . Near the park, the building of the General Post Office was built in the constructivist style.
In 1927, the Park named after N. K. Krupskaya was also founded on Red Square. The first monument to V.I. Lenin was erected in the park in Cheboksary (sculptor B.V. Lavrov, artistic design by M.S. Spiridonov). The opening of the monument took place on November 7, 1930. The monument stood in the park until the construction of a new one on Lenin Square in 1960 , after which it was transferred to the territory of the Chapaevsky village. After the war, a bust of N.K. Krupskaya was installed on a small pedestal near the entrance gate. In 1979, it was moved from the flood zone to the site between the ChEAZ recreation center and the House of Soviets.
Between the two parks in 1924 the “ Arc de Triomphe ” (or “Red Gate”) was built. It was disassembled in the late 1920s.
Children's Park The 10th anniversary of the October Revolution and the Park named after N.K. Krupskaya were a favorite vacation spot for Cheboksars. They had attractions and facilities for cultural events. Hundreds of large-growing and ornamental trees were planted here, among which were pavilions for reading rooms, for playing chess and checkers, a shooting range, etc. The most cozy green corners of the city were decorated with magnificent islands of flower beds. On the summer stage in the park to them. N.K. Krupskaya held concerts of the 1st and 2nd All-Chuvash Olympiads of arts , there was a dance floor .
Over the years, the Children's Park has become desolate. Park constructions fell into disrepair and were not operated, the fountain did not work, the territory was not cleaned by anyone, and lawns were not formed. In 1968, the former Children's Park was renamed the square and transferred to the balance of the city's Public Utilities Administration.
In the 70s, in connection with the construction of the Cheboksary hydroelectric station , the entire historical part of Red Square was demolished. The territory of the former Children's Park. The 10th anniversary of the October Revolution and the N.K. Krupskaya Park fell into the flood zone. [2]
