Scientific Activities

The main direction of scientific activity is the study of the reactivity of solids in order to find ways to control chemical reactions taking place in the solid state. He showed the relationship between the nature of the effect of disordering in crystals on the rate of chemical reactions and the features of the reaction mechanism, introduced the concept of localization and autolocalization of the process, showed the role of various factors in chemical reactions in the solid state. He discovered the phenomenon of feedback , which made it possible to outline effective methods for managing chemical reactions in the solid phase with a known reaction mechanism, by creating or, conversely, destroying defects, by varying the methods of obtaining solids and the methods of its pretreatment. The approach found allowed us to solve the inverse problem: by the way certain types of defects in crystals influence the reactivity of a solid, one can draw conclusions about the features of the reaction mechanism.
