Sao Paul il Bahar [1] , St. Paul's Bay ( Malta. San Pawl il-Baħar , literally translated “St. Paul’s Bay” ) is a city in Malta , located in the north-east of the island 16 km from Valletta .

The city is named after the holy Apostle Paul , who, according to the Acts of the Holy Apostles, was shipwrecked near the coastal islands in the bay, which was also named after him.
According to the 2005 census, the population of the city is 13,619. In the summer, the population of the city increases to 60,000 people, due to the large influx of tourists. Nearby places are very picturesque: to the north of the city is Mystra Bay, as well as St. Paul's Island.
