Genre
Since Celtic Frost changed the genre of their songs throughout their careers, the exact definition has been the subject of debate. In various sources, their work is tagged with various metal genres. Fans and critics often classify their early music as thrash metal , black metal and even death metal [6] [7] [8] , and their subsequent works as dark metal , doom metal [7] and gothic metal [7] [9] .
In the album “ Cold Lake ” they showed their experiment with glam metal [6] [7] [9] . The level of experimentation on albums such as Into The Pandemonium has led some journalists to describe the band's direction as avant-garde metal [6] [10] .
