Lara Croft: Tomb Raider 2 - The Cradle of Life

As a result of the earthquake on the Greek island of Santorini , the temple of the moon, built by Alexander the Great to store his most valuable treasures, is on the surface. Among them there is a mysterious artifact, which is found by treasure hunter Lara Croft . Lara agrees to help them, but on condition that they release her former boyfriend Terry Sheridan, who is familiar with the Chinese crime syndicate. Terry and Lara infiltrate their den, in which Law is smuggling Terracotta soldiers . Lara defeats him in a fight and finds out the location of the sphere.

Lara and Terry steal the sphere from Rise, and then escape on the ship. Lara suspects Terry and decides to go to the Cradle of Life without him.

After deciphering the sphere, Lara learns that the Cradle of Life is in Africa, Kilimanjaro . Meanwhile, Rise blackmails Lara's friends and takes them hostage.

Later, Lara met with an African friend of Kos and asked the local tribe about the Cradle of Life. The tribe leader says the Cradle of Life is in a crater guarded by the Shadow Guardians. Going on an expedition, Rise’s people kill his fellow tribesmen, while Lara surrenders.

Using her companions as hostages, Rise forces Lara to lead him to the Cradle of Life. In the crater, they encounter the Shadow Guardians - humanoid creatures that emerge from wet spots on dead trees. They kill Rise's people, and Lara finds the key to the treasury. The guardians decompose and open the entrance to the Cradle of Life.

Lara and Rise are drawn into the Cradle, whose labyrinth is made of a strange crystalline substance. Inside, they find a reservoir of highly corrosive acid, an acid tudron sulfonate , in which a box floats. The laws of physics do not apply, as Lara and Rise walk on the ceiling of the cave. Terry appears, frees the hostages and catches up with Lara.

Lara fights with Rise and dumps him into the tank after Terry distracts him. Acid kills and dissolves Rise, while Terry wants to take Pandora's Box for himself. Lara dissuades him, but refusing to retreat, she kills Terry, dumps a box into the lake and leaves the cave.
