International Diamond Manufacturers Association

The International Diamond Manufacturers Association or IDMA was created in 1946 in Antwerp. The essence of the organization is to promote the best professional and ethical principles in the process of working with diamonds, as well as full compliance with all national and international laws. In this regard, the organization has developed and adopted a Code of Conduct, which is binding on all its members.

Basic Information

The Association seeks to provide decent working conditions to people involved in the production of diamonds around the world, and shows a high degree of social responsibility.

IDMA strives to take a single leadership role in resolving issues related to the industry. Once every two years, IDMA meets in the framework of the International Diamond Congress to discuss issues of concern to the industry. The meeting of the General Assemblies of IDMA and the World Federation of Diamond Exchanges (WFDB) is held at the congress, at which joint resolutions on current issues are adopted.

IDMA played an important role in creating the Kimberley Process framework; The organization is also a co-founder of the World Diamond Council.

IDMA currently has 15 members, and its current president is Mr. Moti Ganz from Israel. The representative of Russia in IDMA is M. A. Shkadov , who holds the post of vice president in this organization.
