Story
Percy Jackson did not know everything about his father. The letters, besides the ancient Greek ones, blur before his eyes; often, he is very impulsive; and recently he nearly fell victim to a teacher who turned out to be a furia . But Percy’s troubles do not end there. To hide from mythical creatures, he, along with his mother and school friend, leaves for the Half-Blood Camp, which trains demigods in military skill. But very close to the entrance, they are attacked by the Minotaur , who kidnapped Percy’s mother and gifted himself with wounds. Percy woke up in the hospital bed of this camp after three days of unconsciousness and immediately met his school friend Grover, who turned out to be not a man, but a satyr . Percy soon learns that he is the son of Poseidon . He has a girlfriend - the arrogant Annabeth, the daughter of Athena , and his friend Luke (in the book of Luke), the son of Hermes .
To save the world, Percy, Grover and Annabeth escape from the camp, not without the help of Luke. He gives Percy flying sneakers, a shield and a map with which you can find pearls to get out of the kingdom of Hades .
Mining the first pearl, they are forced to meet with Medusa Gorgona and kill her, cutting off her head with magical eyes, after which they took her and the first pearl. To get the second, they go to the Nashville Parthenon , where they take the pearl from the crown of the statue of Athena and defeat Hydra , turning it into stone with the head of Medusa.
In search of the third pearl, they went to the Lotus casino, where they were drugged by the use of lotuses . Hearing the voice of his father, Percy managed to throw off the dope and pick up the pearl. When leaving, they find out that they stayed there not 5 hours, but 5 days.
After that, they fall into the kingdom of Hades , where they meet Cerberus . It turns out that lightning was in the shield that Luke gave. Hades' wife, Persephone , gives Percy lightning and returns his mother. But there are only three pearls, and one pearl for one creature. Then Grover, sacrificing himself, refuses to return. Olympus gets Percy, his mother and Annabeth.
Suddenly Luke appears. It turns out that Luke is the thief of lightning, but Luke does not intend to return them to Zeus . Then Percy enters into battle with Luke, in which he uses his ability to control water. Defeating Luke, he, along with Annabeth takes the lightning and goes to Olympus .
At exactly midnight, Mount Percy and Annabeth burst into Mount Olympus and return lightning to Zeus. The war is over. In gratitude, Zeus rescues Grover from the kingdom of Hades. Children return safely to the Half-Blood Camp, and Percy's mother returns to her home.
Hidden Scene
After two minutes of captions, you can see a hidden scene. Gabe (Percy's stepfather) returns to Percy's mother. Sally tells him that his things are packed, he can clean, and leaves him at home alone. Gabe (despite the prohibition note left by Percy) breaks the lock on the fridge to get a beer, but in the fridge he is waiting for the severed head of Medusa Gorgon.

Making a movie
In June 2004, 20th Century Fox acquired the rights to film adaptation of the book [7] . In April 2007, director Chris Columbus was hired to make the film [8] . Filming began in April 2009 in Vancouver [9] . Part of the film was shot in Tennessee , in the Nashville Parthenon - a full-scale replica of the Parthenon in Athens [10] . Filming was completed on the morning of July 25, 2009 in Vancouver, Canada ( British Columbia ). Digital film processing began in November 2009 in San Francisco [11] . The composer of the film was Chris Beck [6] .
The international movie trailer was released on November 19, 2009.
