The removal of powder gases with an automatic pulse regulator of the automation engine.

Shotguns MR-153 use gas exhaust automation with an annular gas piston located around the store’s tube. An automatic gas regulator (located around the store’s tube), which discharges excess powder gases into the atmosphere, is provided for in the design of the vent assembly.

The barrel is locked by a swinging larva (wedge) located in the bolt and in the fighting position, entering the groove in the barrel shank; the bolt engages directly with the barrel to provide locking strength and durability, as well as unloading the receiver at the time of the shot. The receiver of the guns is made of aluminum alloy, accessories ( forend , bed ) are made of wood or plastic. The trunks are equipped with interchangeable chokes .

Parts exposed to powder gases (barrel bore, chamber , piston , gas chamber , outer tube surface of the magazine) are chrome-plated. Valve and piston rings are made of stainless steel.

The shotgun is equipped with an automatic shutter lag: after firing the last cartridge, the shutter stops in its extreme rear position, which simplifies and speeds up the subsequent reloading and signals the arrow about the exhaustion of ammunition.

The trigger trigger mechanism is made in the form of a detachable node, equipped with a safety system:

• from a shot with the shutter not fully locked;
• non-automatic fuse blocking the trigger .

Magazine tubular magazine , with a capacity of 4 rounds. Magazine capacity can be increased by installing an extension cord of up to 8 rounds.

The MP-153 shotguns are available in several different versions ^[1] :

• with replaceable muzzle attachments for firing lead and steel shot.
• without an aiming strip, with a front sight, without replaceable muzzle attachments.
• with different stock and forend options:
  • made of walnut or beech , with a rubber back-shock absorber;
  • made of plastic, with rubber back-shock absorber;
  • with folding butt and pistol grip.
• Remington Spartan 453 - export model, in 2006-2008 manufactured in Izhevsk for the United States ^[2] .
• MP-153 for practical shooting is a sports modification, finalized in accordance with IPSC rules: with a magazine for 9 rounds 12/70 mm, a Picatinny rail mounted on the receiver, enlarged fuse and interceptor buttons, a new butt and forearm made of impact-resistant plastic ^{[ 3]} .
• MR-153C is a service modification for a 12/76 mm cartridge, developed in 2005-2006, intended for private security companies ^[4] .
• 18.5 KS-P self-loading smoothbore carbine - modification MP-153, adopted in July 2006 by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation ^[5] . The carbine is equipped with an under-barrel magazine with an increased capacity of 6 rounds, a metal folding stock, a plastic forearm and a plastic pistol grip. On top of the receiver installed Picatinny rail. On the muzzle of the barrel installed slotted arrester ^[6] . Not for commercial sale.

• MP-153 is a laureate of the competition "100 best goods of Russia" in 2001.
• For the development of the MP-153 self-loading shotgun, the manufacturing company was awarded the gold medal of the International Competition "National Security" and the diploma of the competition.
