Sliema ( Malta. Tas-Sliema , English Sliema ) is a city located on the northern coast of Malta . The city is an important center for shopping and recreation. Sliema is the main residential and commercial area. Many modern Malta hotels are concentrated here. Sliema, which means “particle, comfort”, was a quiet fishing village on a peninsula along the Marsamshett Cove from Valletta .
