The city of Celtyadnarnes is located in the southwestern part of Iceland, on a peninsula of the same name, west of the country's capital Reykjavik . Administratively, it is the center of the Celtyadnarnesber community, located in the Hewudborgarschweidid region. The area of the city is 2 km². The number of inhabitants is 4428 people (as of December 1, 2007 ). The population density is 2214 people / km². In connection with the outflow of the population to the capital, in Celtyadnarnes, there has recently been a tendency to a gradual decrease in the number of inhabitants.
The status of the city of Celtiadnarnes received in 1974 . The city has the Nesstoff Medical Museum (in a building built in 1761 - 1763 ) and the Pharmaceutical Museum (in a pharmacy built around 1900 ). Energy supply of the city is provided by geothermal sources.
