Regarding the status of the group as a “ supergroup, ” Sammy Hagar said: “We are not a supergroup, we like to hang out together, and the music is a bonus to that.” [2] Michael Anthony said that the name of the group came from the jam in which he participated, Sammy Hagar and Chad Smith. When the rumors about the group began to spread, they began to call the group that way and then we thought: “Well, why not? Let's be chickenfoot. ”
Group Education
The story of Chickenfoot began with Sami, Michael and Chad jamming together at the Cabo Wabo club. Seeing that musicians get together and play, people started asking questions “When will your album be released?”, “When are you going on tour?” And so on. Then Sammy Hagar replied: “Well, to do it right, we need a guitar player like Joe Satriani , because I consider him the best guitar player in the world. ” The first performance of the group took place in February 2008. The concert consisted of three songs - from the cover versions of Led Zeppelin - Rock`n`Roll and Traffic - Dear Mr. Fantasy, as well as songs from another project by Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony. After the speech, Michael Anthony said: “There was a connection between us, we just had fun on stage. The hall took us great and we decided to try the following steps to see what happens. ”
The debut album of the group with the same name went on sale in April 2009 .
In July 2011, the band announced the name of the second album, its full track listing and release date. The disc, dubbed “Chickenfoot III,” was released on September 27, 2011 via earMUSIC / Edel, and in North America via eOne Music, which released the disc in special packaging with 3D photos (anaglyph). The single from this CD - “Bigfoot”, was released in August 2011. Mike Fraser worked as a producer on the album [3] .
