History
The development of Serebryanka was started in the 1970s [1]
The appearance of Serebryanka district (formerly Zheleznodorozhny settlement) is associated with the construction of the Moscow-Brest and Libavo-Romenskaya railways in 1871–1873 on the south-eastern outskirts of Minsk. The name of the area comes from the name of Serebryanka, a small river that previously flowed into Svisloch. It began near the airport Minsk-1, flowed parallel to the current Aerodromnaya street and near the street. Denisovskaya, fell into Svisloch. The river valley began to carry the name Silver Log (ravine, hollow). At the mouth of the river in the 16th century the village of Serebryanka emerged, and at some distance from it later several dungeons and a tavern with the same name appeared. The forest, on the other side of the Svisloch, was named Serebryany Bor. In the middle of the 19th century, when Minsk approached the forest, on the opposite bank of the city of Svisloch another settlement appeared called Serebryanka. In place of this boron today is Serebryanka district. The river itself in the first half of the 20th century was turned into a ditch, and when it expanded and leveled the surface of the airfield in the postwar period, it was filled up.
The estate called Silver Log has been known since 1551. In the XIX century, the area was called Silver Mills and served as a place of rest for citizens. In 1895, a cast iron foundry was founded here, at the beginning of the 20th century, Serebryanskaya Street and Serebryansky Lane were located in this area.
The modern microdistrict Serebryanka is located a few kilometers northeast of Serebryanka historical.
