Karl Gustav Adolf Knis ( German: Karl Gustav Adolf Knies ; March 29, 1821 , Marburg , - August 3, 1898 , Heidelberg ) - German economist, representative of the historical school in political economy .

In 1841-1845 he studied at the University of Marburg . From 1852 he was a teacher at the cantonal school at Schaffhausen , then a professor at the University of Marburg. He was a professor at the University of Freiburg (1855–1860) and the University of Heidelberg (1865–1896).
