Geographical position
The village of Gontov Yar is located on the slopes of the Peresvitnya beam along which a drying stream flows. It adjoins the town of Valki , the villages of Vodopoy and Korsunovka . The village is crossed by the highway M-03 ( E 40 ). Part of the village used to be called Bobirka and Tarapatovka.
