History

MCI was founded in 1995/1996. as an educational center at the level of a higher educational institution in accordance with the rules of private law, but not being a commercial organization.

This institution of higher education is funded by the organizers:

  • 75% by the company of the founders of the Tyrol Management Center, which includes the leadership of the federal state of Tyrol and the city of Innsbruck, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tyrol, the Work Chamber, the Union of Industrialists of Tyrol, the University of Innsbruck, the socio-economic faculty of the University of Innsbruck.
  • by 12.5% ​​by the company of the founders of the technical department MCI.
  • 12.5% ​​by the founders of the tourism department.

In parallel with the work of the university, sponsor enterprises from various industries provide support. The motto of the university is: β€œWe support the motivated”; and the credo β€œEntrepreneurial Higher School” has become a trademark and emphasizes that in its activities MCI is guided by the principles of entrepreneurship.

Organization

MCI is an autonomous academic unit. The curriculum includes bachelor's and master's programs, courses and seminars for managers, trainings for companies, conducting scientific conferences and projects in the field of applied research. Currently, MCI employs 150 staff and teachers, while 800 science and practice teachers are part-time. More than 3,000 students receive bachelor's and master's qualifications within its walls, annually about 400 people attend continuing education programs for senior managers. Students from all over the world study at MCI, teaching is conducted in German and English.

Campus and student life

MCI has 5 academic buildings: β€’ MCI I + II buildings are located in the center, between the old city / theater, the Theological faculty and the Socio-economic faculty at: University of Straße 15 β€’ MCI III: Weierburggass 8 β€’ MCI IV: Egger-Lienz-Strasse 120 β€’ MCI V: Kapucinergasse 9 MCI students, staff, clients and partners have an excellent infrastructure with modern classrooms for conducting classes, organizing group work, conducting research and searching for information. Thanks to the partnership agreement β€œOpen University of Innsbruck”, all MCI students, employees and partners have access to the library, laboratories, student canteens, sports and other facilities of the University of Innsbruck Leopold Franz.

Educational programs for the preparation of bachelors and masters

Over the years, MCI has created educational programs for the consistent preparation of bachelors and masters. With the beginning of the 2005 academic year, the first courses were transferred to the model of training bachelors and masters in accordance with the European Bologna process. In the winter semester of 2009/10 this transition has been completed.

Due to the special organization of the master's program courses, limited employment is possible along with studies.

Elective Semester

Stationary students can study abroad for one semester at one of 200 partner universities.

Tuition Fee

The amount of the educational contribution for educational programs for the preparation of bachelors, masters and specialists for EU citizens is 363.63 € per semester, the contribution of the Austrian National Student Union prescribed by law is additionally paid. Tuition for students of third countries:

Bachelor's programs - 5000 € per semester, for master's programs - 7000 € semester.

Business Education for Company Executives (Executive Education)

Postgraduate Master Programs

Programs of additional (second higher) education in the field of business process administration are university-level training courses and are additionally accredited by FIBAA. The Master of Laws Education Program (LL.M.) - International Economic and Tax Law - is offered as an inter-university double degree program and is implemented in collaboration with the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. The training takes place equally in Innsbruck and in Frankfurt.

Continuing education programs for enterprise managers

The successful completion of one of the programs can be counted as a master's module for enterprise managers. If you combine several managerial training programs in training and write a master's thesis corresponding to scientific requirements, you can get a master's degree in MBA, MSc and LL.M.

Management Workshops

Students are offered about 30 intensive seminars on the topics: leadership, management, law and business communication.

Trainings for firms

MCI offers its training and continuing education programs also in the form of trainings for companies.

Student Service

The Student Assistance Service deals with issues related to student accommodation / housing, scholarships / grants, organization of free time, sports and cultural events, visits to libraries, as well as personal issues (consultations of psychologists, church communities).

Language Center

Own language center offers students a rich program of studying foreign languages ​​in addition to those that are enshrined in the curriculum and provide the opportunity to acquire intercultural communication skills.

Alumni Club

The alumni club, which also includes all students, organizes reports and discussions with representatives of the economic, cultural and political elites and assists in finding places to practice and work. His motto is: β€œIn the community of single-minded people.”

Career Center

Career Center offers assistance in finding places to do internships during studies and assistance with finding employment after graduation.
