Creating an album

According to producer Igor Matvienko, the album “Rassay” was created with the understanding that this would not be the most commercial album “Lube”. When all the songs were already recorded, Matvienko assumed the appearance of talks about the fact that the musicians were performing an order from the Kremlin; there were fears that such an album could harm “Lube”, because it is generally accepted that if “Lube” is on the border between rock and pop music, then they should in principle be in opposition to the authorities. However, according to Matvienko, there was no order [2] .

Song geography

During the interview, the Moskovsky Komsomol correspondent asked Nikolay Rastorguev about the following line: “Rassay, my Rassay - from the Volga to the Yenisei ...” Where did the other parts go? Maybe it would be better to sing differently: "Russia - you are my consolation - from Kamchatka to Kaliningrad ..."? To which he replied the following [3] :

The song is not a historical document. This is just a piece of music. Just such a rhyme turned poetic. We will not give an inch of our land to anyone.

But the author of the text, songwriter Alexander Shaganov , responded to the “ Arguments and Facts ” answer to a similar question [4] :

Of course, Russia is much broader. Both the Yenisei and the Volga are two river symbols of Russia, and in this song one great river says hello to the other. Poetic works are not a lesson in geography.

The team of Murzilki International wrote a parody song in which the couplet with the above line looks like this:

“From Volga to Yenisei
Where did the rest go? ”

Reviews

In his review, Boris Barabanov calls Russ, an ideal Russian album for an adult audience.

In the world of "Lube," there is more likely not Russia, but Rasseya — something like Middle-earth, a Eurasian Netlandia with beautiful Knights-Cossacks, desperate Makhnovists and special forces heroes; The most biting line of the album - "Russian cut Russian". The epic scope of the plots is supported, as always, by the flawless music of Igor Matvienko. The songs of "Russ" are very easy to imagine being performed at the table on February 23 or May 9, they quickly adapt to the six-string and exactly fit into the traditional scenario of the national feast. CD "Lube" "Rassay" - in a sense, the perfect Russian album for an adult audience, everything is there - from separate dance tracks to the Anthem of Russia [5]

Vladimir Baskov, from InterMedia

The disc opens the composition 'From Volga to Yenisei'. Musically, she is a classic 'Lube hit'. Among the instruments there is a button accordion and a balalaika - the very thing for a feast. True, the old song 'Old Makhno' sounds very fresh. And not quite old, but also already produced " Birch ". Curiously look duets. 'The Clear Falcon' is performed along with Nikolai Fomenko and Sergey Mazaev , 'Over the tall grass' - with the officers of the Alpha group, and 'My horse' - with the film director of national significance Nikita Mikhalkov . 'Anthem of Russia' in a somewhat playful rock processing. At the beginning of the song 'Many Years of the Russian Land', the harp sounds. In some places such a 'programming' listeners can not help but delight. [6]
