Iliamna ( born Iliamna ) is an active volcano in the northern part of the Aleutian Range in Alaska , USA. On the Russian map of 1852, it is indicated as "Ilimna hill" [2] .

Iliamna is located 215 km (134 miles) southwest of Anchorage . Its height above sea level is 3053 m. The slopes of the volcano abruptly break off to the western shore of Cook Bay . Fumaroles emerge at an altitude of about 2740 meters and on the eastern slope they emit almost constant smoke and steam . It is considered active and therefore controlled.
