Gerhard Plankensteiner ( German: Gerhard Plankensteiner , born April 8, 1971 ) is an Italian sleigh , two-time world champion and bronze medalist of the Olympic Games .

At the beginning of his career, Planckensteiner acted as a loner. He won the 1990 Junior World Championships , won the first ever mixed-team competition at the 1989 World Adult Championships , became the bronze medalist at various world championships, and participated in the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville , where he won 11th place.
Then Planckensteiner began to perform together with Oswald Hazelrider in the competition of twos. Together they participated in the three Winter Olympic Games , becoming bronze medalists at the 2006 Games in Turin, won the 2009 World Cup and won prizes at the European Championships . In the World Cup, their best result was second place in the 1996-1997 season.
