Mustahabb ( Arabic مستحبّ - recommended [ 1] ), a synonym for the words Mandub , Sunnat and Gayri-Muakkad - in the Shari'a , non-binding actions for which the executor receives a reward ( savab ) [2] , part of the allowed ( halal ) prescriptions.
Most often, mustahabb is performed following the example of the Prophet Muhammad and his associates ( askhabs ). Failure to do mustahabba is not considered a sin . Mustahabba includes, for example, voluntary prayers and fasting [3] .
