Biography
Born March 4 (17), 1902 in the city of Vilna (now Vilnius, Lithuania ) in a working class family. In total, the family had four children: Grigory, Vladislav, Agrafen and Varvara. Russian
In 1912 he graduated from the city school. When Gregory was 13 years old (1915), the family moved to Donbass . In Donbass, he worked as a laborer at local enterprises.
World War I
12-year-old Grisha Ageev, who heard the priest's sermon in the church, calling for the protection and salvation of Russia from the advancing German, decided to go to the war to “beat the German”. Leaving his family a note “Do not look for me, I will show up myself”, the boy went to the station. In 1915-1916 he served in the tsarist army , rising to the rank of senior non-commissioned officer .
During the war he became the full Cavalier of St. George . G. A. Ageev got his first St. George Cross of the IV degree for an episode when he climbed into a German trench and, having pulled out a German machine gun with tapes, delivered it to his own. He received the second cross for the capture of the German company commander and his orderly. The third St. George Cross is a reward for the fact that "Unter Ageev as part of the machine gun team did not go out of the battle for a month." He was awarded the fourth cross of St. George for heavy fighting on the Romanian front near Iasi .
For three months he was seriously ill, being in cholera huts. He survived and decided again to go to the front. But the situation was changing in the country and, having once heard the words of a soldier agitator-Bolshevik: “Run away! The Tsar needs such a loyal lackey ... ", the senior non-commissioned officer decided:" Maybe the truth is in these words ... "and left the front. He worked at the mine.
Civil War
From 1918 to 1920 he took part in battles on the fronts of the Civil War as part of the Red Army . He fought as part of the first Moscow people's squad . In Ukraine , occupied by the Germans, he was a liaison of partisan detachments , a political commander of horse reconnaissance, and a military commissar . He was wounded three times. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1918.
Party Activities
After the civil war he was at party work. Over the years, he worked as secretary of the Skopinsky district party committee in Mosbass , deputy secretary of the Moscow Party Bureau of Moscow Region , head of the Glavugol People’s Commissariat of the Fuel Industry of the USSR , editor of a large circulation. He participated in the restoration of the mines of the Donbass , the construction of the Dnieper hydroelectric station , collectivization , the construction of mines in the Far East and the Moscow Region .
For the construction of mines G. A. Ageev was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor . In the 1930s, he avoided repression , although according to the testimony of his daughters Klara Grigoryevna and Tatyana Grigoryevna, he had conflicts with L. M. Kaganovich . Since 1938 he was at the chore [3] .
In the Far East
In 1939, he was sent by the People's Commissariat of Heavy Industry to the Far East to the working village of Chegdomyn, the administrative center of the Vekhnebureysky district [4] as commissioner for the restoration and construction of new coal mines. In November 1939, he took over the position of the trust manager of the BShS ( Bureyshakhtostroy ). Much work was unfolding here on the Urgal River: during the years of the 3rd Five-Year Plan, it was planned to build 12 mines. It was necessary to create a fuel base for servicing the Baikal-Amur Railway , for the development of industry in the Far East. Much had to start from scratch.
However, by the decision of the bureau of the Chekundinsky district party committee, G. A. Ageev was soon suspended from work under the pretext of failure to launch the mines in operation. In April 1941, he was recalled to Moscow and was soon appointed to exactly the same position for the construction of mines in the suburbs .
He headed the department for the construction of new mines in the Cherepetsk (now Suvorov ) district of the Tula region , where the construction of a state district power station was planned. He proved himself in this work as an experienced leader and connoisseur of industrial production in the coal industry.
The beginning of World War II
During the years of World War II, the head of the new mine construction department (UNSH), G. A. Ageev, was one of the founders of the Tula people's militia . In the early days of the war, he began to form fighter battalions from the miners, the purpose of which was to fight against saboteurs, rocket men, work to defuse aerial bombs and destroy enemy leaflets. Also, fighter battalions arose at other enterprises of the region. With the front approaching the borders of the Tula region, G. A. Ageev proposed combining fighter battalions and creating from them a combined detachment with a single headquarters. The party’s district committee entrusted him with the leadership of a combined detachment of fighter battalions of skull miners and mine builders.
He commanded a combined detachment of fighter battalions operating in the territory of the Suvorov district . He closely cooperated with the battalion of the 156th regiment of the NKVD (commander - Captain V.F. Poniznik) operating in this area and the combined fighter battalions (under the command of the captain of the border troops A.P. Gorshkov and the 1st secretary of the Cherepetsky district committee of the CPSU (b) S. A. Vasilieva ).
In the first battle he showed courage and ability to lead fighters. On October 20, 1941, between the village of Rozhdestveno and the Cherepet station (now Suvorov district ), fighter battalions took part in the battle, enabling retreating soldiers of the 50th Army of the Soviet troops to break away from the advancing enemy and focus on new frontiers [3] .
On October 23, the Tula city defense committee approved a resolution to unite fighter battalions, militia units and create on their basis the October 26 Tula working regiment , which was to immediately go to the barracks position and be housed in the premises of the Mechanical Institute . The regiment was created as part of five battalions under the command of the captain of the border troops A.P. Gorshkov . By the indicated time, 600 fighter battalion fighters had joined the forming working regiment, the rest of the staff was replenished by workers and employees "on party mobilization " from among representatives of local enterprises and institutions. Instead of the originally appointed P. A. Baranov, the day before the fierce fighting in the outskirts of Tula, on October 28, G. A. Ageev was approved as the commissioner of the regiment [3] .
Last fight
On October 30, an offensive of German tanks began at the position of the Tula working regiment in the Osoaviahima park on the southern outskirts of the Rogozhinsky village. One of the two assault groups tried to break into the city through the village of Red Perekop .
According to the official version, Commissioner Ageev was at the forefront, talking with commanders and fighters, supporting still unfired newcomers, and in difficult moments of the battle he took a rifle and went on a counterattack, inspiring a personal example of fighters. At about 3 o’clock in the afternoon, when the Wehrmacht once again intensified the onslaught, Ageev noticed that the medical center where the wounded were at risk was under threat. The commissar, with a group of fighters under fire, personally carried out and removed the wounded from the battlefield, despite the order of the regiment commander A.P. Gorshkov to leave the wounded on the battlefield until dark. Seven times, Commissioner G. A. Ageev undertook sorties, saving the lives of his comrades [3] .
For the eighth time, Commissioner Ageev was killed by a machine gun burst. The commissar’s body was taken out of the battlefield as soon as possible. He was buried with military honors in Tula at the All Saints Cemetery [3] .
According to the report of Major I. Ya. Kravchenko , the head of the southern combat section of the city of Tula, Hero of the Soviet Union, the enemy attacked on October 30, 1941 at 8:00 with 34 medium and heavy tanks and up to the motorized infantry battalion from the direction of Gosteyevka . The Tula working regiment was scattered and fled in an unknown direction, after which German tanks and motorized infantry broke through to the city, and the tanks captured the Osoaviahima park (on the southern outskirts of Rogozhinsky village, now the park named after the 250th anniversary of the arms factory), coming close to the church . This critical situation could only be rectified with the help of three groups of tank destroyers and personnel of the approaching 1005th Infantry Regiment of the 173rd Infantry Division . There is no information about the participation of the Tula working regiment in further battles on October 30 - November 1, 1941 [5] .

Ratings and Opinions
According to the memoirs of the old-timer of the Verkhnebureinsky district F.V. Leshtaev, G. A. Ageev was attentive to people, was able to convince him of the correctness of the decision, organize work, in his character - complete dedication to the case, which he was engaged in:
In October 10, 1939, the authorities arrived from Khabarovsk to Kuldur : Ageev Grigory Antonovich, Guskov Alexander Mikhailovich ... I brought them from Kuldur in a car, on a passenger car ( GAZ-M-1 ) to Ust-Urgal. Here is our land.
On October 11, 1939, I ... drove my passengers through the Mari by car ... Ageev stood at sunrise, crossed himself. “Let's go,” he said, “with God.” I felt funny. He said: “What is Fedya laughing? It was my grandmother who taught me and I remember such hard things. But despite the fact that I went through a difficult war, it helped me ”... Our path was hard. In many places, I had to push the car and chop branches for flooring. Through the keys had to make transfers. I had staples, wire. Ageev praised for this and shook hands.
We arrived at Srednyaya Urgal ... to lower Chegdomyn and then they all walked out, were on the town, and there were several huts. ... in the Middle Urgal met with people. Ageev spoke to them as old acquaintances. He had jokes, sayings and even songs to sing along. Ageev, when he accepted the proceedings, wrote an order, who should work where. He began to organize logging together with A. Guskov. We were harvesting timber on Satanki, the Marine Key, in the upper reaches of Urgal, where now the pioneer camp, in Talanja, in the upper reaches of Chegdomyn.
In 1940, they began to build a highway from Sredny Urgal to Sotsgorodok . At the same time, in Nizhny Chegdomyn along Rabochaya Street and a steep descent. And wherever Ageev appeared on a horse, on foot or in a car, he always lifted the spirit of youth. Roads, roads, meetings with people, housing in the office of Bureyshakhtostroy until housing was built on the steep bank of Urgal for him and Guskov, where the family could be transported.
I. Isaev, in the days of the defense of the city of Tula - assistant commander of the working regiment for logistics [3] :
Always modest and active, ... immediately took up the practical work of putting together all the fighter battalions brought into the working regiment into combat units. ... October 29, went to the positions occupied by the regiment.
