Geography
It is located 190 km south-east of Biysk and 78 km north of the village of Artybash , 150 km from the city of Gorno-Altaisk , in the intermountain valley between the Biya River and its right tributary the Lebedyu River.
Etymology
The name is translated from Altai as a hut ("tour" - hut, house; "chak" - diminutive suffix)
Climate
Due to the intrusion of very cold air (“nizkovki”) from Siberia in winter, as well as the “rolling” of cold air from the Altai Mountains at night, the climate of Turochak is rather severe: the average January temperature here is -19.7 ° C.
