It is located in the western part of the region 3 km south of Smolensk , 1.5 km south of the highway A141 Orel - Vitebsk . 11 km east of the village is the Tychinino railway station on the Smolensk - Roslavl line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
