It is located in the western part of the region 28 km northwest of Smolensk , 0.5 km northeast of the P133 Smolensk - Nevel highway. 18 km south of the village is the Kuprino railway station on the Smolensk - Vitebsk line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 [1] .
