Located in the western part of the region, 1 km north-west of Smolensk , 5 km south of the Belarus highway M1 . Smolensk railway station on the Moscow - Minsk line is located 4 km south of the village.
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 [1] .
