It is located in the western part of the region 9 km north-west of Smolensk , 1.5 km north of the M1 Belarus highway. 8 km south of the village is the Krasny Bor railway station on the Moscow - Minsk line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 [1] .
