It is located in the western part of the region 5 km north-west of Smolensk , 0.1 km south of the Belarus highway M1 . 8 km south of the village is the Smolensk railway station on the Moscow - Minsk line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 [1] .
