It is located in the north-eastern part of the region, 15 km north-east of Gagarin , 10 km north of the Belarus highway M1 . 7 km south-east of the village is the Batyushkovo railway station on the Moscow - Minsk line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in October 1941 , liberated in March 1943 . [one]
