It is located in the northwestern part of the region 3 km east of Velizh , 2 km northeast of the P133 Smolensk - Nevel highway. Rudnya railway station is located 94 km south of the village on the Smolensk - Vitebsk line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
