Football League Cup 2009 Final ( Eng. 2009 Football League Cup Final ) is a football match that took place on March 1, 2009 at Wembley Stadium . The match was the completion of the 49th draw of the Football League Cup 2008/09 season . It met the English clubs " Manchester United " and " Tottenham Hotspur " [1] . The best scorers of the tournament played for both teams: Roman Pavlyuchenko for Tottenham Hotspur and Carlos Tevez for Manchester United. Each of them had 6 goals on the bombing score.

The match was won by Manchester United after a penalty shoot-out with a score of 4: 1, after the completion of the main and extra time without goals scored. United players scored all four hits from the penalty spot , while Tottenham players didn't score two of them. It was only the second time in the history of the tournament, when its outcome was decided in a penalty shootout.

The player of the match was recognized as goalkeeper Manchester United Ben Foster [2] .
