Anna Schwartz (née Jacobson , English Anna Schwartz ; November 11, 1915 , New York - June 21, 2012 ) is an American economist at the Chicago school , a fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research . The most famous is her collaboration with Milton Friedman, “The Monetary History of the United States 1867–1960” ( 1963 ).

Biography
Born in the Bronx family of East European immigrants - Rabbi Hillel Joseph Jacobson ( Hillel Joseph Jacobson ) and Pauline Shainmark ( Pauline Shainmark ). [1] Her father was responsible for rabbinical kosher control at the Swift and Co Meat Distribution Network. [2] [3]
She graduated from Barnard College ( New York ). Master ( 1935 ) and Ph.D. ( 1964 ) Columbia University . Since 1941, she worked at the National Bureau of Economic Research . She published a number of works in collaboration with the head of the monetarist direction in economic science Milton Friedman .
President of the International Atlantic Economic Society (2002-2003) .
