Eternal wanderer

Eternal Wanderer is a song performed by Russian singer Masha Katz (performing under the pseudonym Judith) at the Eurovision-1994 song contest . It was Russia's debut at Eurovision , as well as the first performance of the song in Russian (although earlier the phrase in Russian was sounded in 1969 in the Yugoslav song Pozdrav svijetu ). The author of the text is Masha Katz herself, the music was written by Lev Zemlinsky [1] .

The song is a ballad in which the heroine refers to an unnamed hero, whom she calls the eternal wanderer.

The song was performed on the 23rd at the competition, following the Hungarian performer Fryderyka Bayer with the song “Kinek mondjam el vétkeimet?” And before Edita Gurnyak from Poland with the song “ To nie ja ”. The Russian song enjoyed some success with the three millionth television audience, eventually taking 9th place and gaining 70 points.

In 1999, according to the results of the audience’s vote in Great Britain, the song “Eternal Wanderer” was included in the top ten songs in the history of the contest [2] .
