Gerald Brom is an American science fiction artist famous for the gothic aesthetics of his work. Illustrator of books, writer and production designer for fantasy and horror films .

Biography
Bromine was born March 9, 1965 in Georgia , USA. His father was a U.S. Air Force pilot and served in overseas bases, so Brom’s childhood passed in Frankfurt , Germany . For some time, Brom also lived in Japan. During his service in the army, the future artist was so used to being called only by his last name that he almost forgot his name - Gerald. He signs, and asks to call him, simply "Brom."
From the age of twenty, Brom has been engaged in professional illustration. At first, he was associated with the advertising business. In 1989, Jeff Isley invited him to the headquarters of TSR / WIzards of the Coast , a publisher of board role-playing games and books on them. Brom worked on books and collectible cards for the universes Forgotten Realms , Dark Sun and Magic: The Gathering .
In 1994, Brom left the editorial office of TSR and became a freelance artist. He collaborated with DC Comics , drew covers for the books of Michael Moorcock , Edgar Burroughs . In the 2000s, Brom again became a frequent guest at Wizards of the Coast. A series of books “ The War of the Spider Queen ” edited by Robert Salvatore comes out in its design, as well as the Avatar cycle . He also took part in work on horror films: Van Helsing , Sleepy Hollow , Ghosts of Mars and others; computer games: Doom I and II , Heretic I and II , and others.
Brom lives with his wife and two children in Seattle .
