Flag of Temryuk region

“The flag of the Temryuk region is a rectangular panel with a ratio of width to length of 2 to 3, divided into three stripes - two blue and raspberry between them, two horizontal white features curved in the form of scales unfolded to the raspberry strip; in the middle of the cloth are yellow, with orange shades, figures: a sea anchor and a bunch of grapes on it. ”

The flag in the language of symbols and allegories indicates the economic, historical and natural features of the Temryuk region.

Temryuk district occupies most of the Taman Peninsula . Once upon a time, according to the ideas of the ancient Greeks, Europe bordered on Asia, being divided by the Strait of Kerch . Here the sea and the steppe sent bearers of different cultures, with whom paganism, Christianity, Judaism, Islam penetrated the Taman shores. Here, millions of years diverged and water and land converged, until they were united in a rare geographic alliance - the onions of two seas: the Black and Azov Sea . In 1792, with the release of the “Highest Letter of Appeal to the Black Sea Cossack Army on June 30, 1792”, the Cossacks began to move to the Kuban lands, and Taman carried through the centuries the banner of the cross for the Kuban Cossacks, where they took their first step and where they built the first Kuban church.

Due to its unique location, Taman has long been the intersection of trade and economic routes. And today the Temryuk region is a fish region, a grape field, a power of ports of international importance. On the flag this is indicated by the image of the anchor. An anchor is a traditional symbol of reliability, calm, firmness, good luck.

Temryuk region has tremendous fish productive potential. Taman, located between two seas, among estuaries , canals and eriks , nature itself is ordered to be the manager of those edible treasures that spawn, inhabit and are caught in its water possessions. Living silver is the pride of Taman fishermen.

A bunch of grapes on the flag of the Temryuk region reflects the basis of local agriculture - viticulture and winemaking. About 20 thousand hectares of Taman chernozem are covered by kilometers of vineyards. A total of 69 table and technical grape varieties, from the sonorous names of which - Aligote , Bianca, Cabernet , Moldova, Traminer, Chardonnay and others - the Taman elixir of health and longevity is born. Grapes are processed at famous wineries: “Fanagoria”, “Yuzhny”, “Mirny”. Grapes - a symbol of fertility, fertility, hospitality, generosity.

Yellow color ( gold ) is a symbol of harvest, wealth, stability, respect, intelligence.

White color ( silver ) is a symbol of purity, perfection, peace and mutual understanding.

Blue color (light blue ) is a symbol of honor, nobility, spirituality, water open spaces.

Raspberry color ( purple ) - a symbol of dignity, fame, honor and greatness.

On June 26, 2006, with the Progress M-57 transport cargo ship, the flag of the Temryuk region was delivered aboard the International Space Station . After returning to Earth on September 29, 2006 on the Soyuz TMA-8 spacecraft by the ISS-13 crew, the flag was presented to Evgeny Alekseevich Cherny, a native of the Temryuk region, under whose guidance 25 manned spacecraft Soyuz were prepared and launched.
