About the album
After the death of Freddie Mercury in 1991, the other three members of the group: Brian May , Roger Taylor and John Deacon used the recordings of Freddie Mercury 's voice in the creation of Queen's latest album. Some songs from the album were already familiar to the public, but the instrumental parts of Brian, John and Roger were completely reworked. “My Life Has Been Saved” was part of the single for the song “ Scandal ”, while “Made in Heaven” and “I Was Born to Love You” were previously released on Mercury's solo records. “ Heaven for Everyone ” is a song by Roger Taylor’s band The Cross , which was featured on Shove It ( 1988 ). The song “ Too Much Love Will Kill You ” was previously performed by Brian May; it was part of his solo album Back to the Light ( 1992 ). “ A Winter's Tale ” is the last song written by Mercury, and “ Mother Love ” is the last, unfinished song by Freddy. The track 13 was the longest release of the group.
The album became the most popular of all ever released by the group [9] . In 14 countries it took first place, and in twenty it became platinum (in some countries several times).
In the UK, the album took first place and was sold in the amount of 1,500,000 copies (four times platinum) [10] [11] , making it the band's most sold studio album.
In Europe, the album was sold in the amount of 7,000,000 copies [12] , in the USA it took only 58th place.
