“The Floating Theaters of the Big Planet” (in some names the World of the Floating Theater ) is Jack Vance's science fiction novel written in 1975. The original title of the novel was “Magnificent floating theaters in the lower part of the Vissel River, okrug XXIII of Lun province on the Big Planet” ( The Magnificent Showboats of the Lower Vissel River, Lune XXIII, Big Planet ). The novel takes place on the Big Planet, on which the plot of one of Vance ’s past novels also unfolds. However, the connection between these novels is limited only to the place of action. In addition, in this novel, the diversity of tribes and civilizations of the Big Planet is described and demonstrated, as it were, "from the inside." [one]
