History
In 1971, the Rainbow experimental design bureau, which later became the town-forming enterprise for Raduzhny, was allocated a plot of land in the swampy forest area of the Vladimir Region , 25 km from the regional center - the city of Vladimir. The management of all the work was entrusted to Major General Ivan Sergeyevich Kosminov [6] [7] . Next to the buildings of the design bureau, the construction of a residential area for employees of the enterprise began. The urban development plan of the village included a complex of multi-storey buildings, objects of education, health care, social welfare, sports and recreation areas. The main construction was carried out for 20 years - from the 1970s to the 1980s.
During the perestroika period, many promising specialists left the enterprise. Unemployment, wage arrears and social benefits grew in the village.
In January 1998, by the decree of the President of Russia, the village of Raduzhny was given the status of a city and a closed administrative territorial entity . State support allowed the city administration to put in order many objects transferred to municipal ownership from the Ministry of Defense Ministry over 10 years. It was possible to restore and maintain the viability of urban infrastructure, to increase the security of the city with socially important facilities. Financing of public sector institutions has stabilized, uninterrupted functioning of housing and communal services, housing construction has resumed, new enterprises and jobs have begun to appear.
