GDC Europe ( English Game Developers Conference Europe - Russian. European Conference of Game Developers ) - an international event, a conference dedicated to the development of computer games . GDC Europe is one of several “offshoots” from the “parent” Game Developers Conference , which is held in March each year in San Francisco . For the first time, GDC Europe was held in 2009, immediately becoming the largest pan-European event for game developers in 2009. GDC Europe was held in Cologne along with GamesCom , which was held from 19 to 23 August and was the main European exhibition of computer games designed for consumers, publishers, journalists and trade professionals. History
Until 2008, the Games Convention of the Games Convention Developers Conference was held as part of the Games Convention . However, after the closing of the Games Convention, its successor was GamesCom , - accordingly, the heir of the “Games Convention Developers Conference” was the “Game Developers Conference Europe” (GDC Europe). Frank Sliwka , former head of the Games Convention Developers Conference, became the head of the GDC Europe conference. [3]
GDC Europe 2009
Even before the start of the GDC Europe 2009 conference, its organizers predicted results. It was expected that the total number of conference attendees would reach 1,000 from more than 30 countries, including more than 250 members of the press. GDC Europe 2009 was the biggest event for game developers in Europe.
