Club career
The early years
N'Zogbia began his career at the Le Havre Club Academy. At the age of 17, he was spotted by the scout of the Newcastle United football club, Charlie Woods, who invited him to watch the club. After a month of viewing, in which the Newcastle coaches were satisfied with the player, he was offered a contract. In December 2008, N'Zogbia announced his desire to leave the club through the winter transfer window .
On January 29, 2009, after a 1-1 loss to Manchester City , the then Newcastle United head coach Joe Kinnir repeatedly incorrectly pronounced the football player’s last name in the post-match interview, calling him Insomnia ( Russian insomnia ).
