Village Characteristics

The history of the village of Ivangorod goes back centuries. Ivangorod has already been designated ( Iwan Horodўcze ) on the map of Boplan as a settlement.

The first mention of the village as Ivan the City was recorded in 1624.

Some local residents of Ivangorod still live in huts made from adobe by the classical technology of the ancient inhabitants who lived in these places hundreds of years ago.

The village school was visited by Leo Tolstoy in 1884, as evidenced by the memorial table on the facade of the building.

The name of Leo Tolstoy is one of the streets of the village.

Historic school building. A section of wall along the street.

If you walk along the school you can see a historical monument of the beginning of the XIX century, a long building of white color. It was originally a warehouse, and later until today it is used as a store.

An ancient store building in the center of the village.

Also in the center of the village opposite the ruins of the church, in the local house of culture there was a magnificent museum dedicated to the great artist Nikolai Ge . Now part of it has moved. On the Shevchenko farm (during the life of the artist Ivanovsky) there is the grave of Nikolai Ge. In 2011, the 180th anniversary of the birth of the great artist was celebrated. In honor of the anniversary, exhibitions were dedicated to the work of N. N. Ge, including in the village of Pliski. An exhibition was also organized at the State Tretyakov Gallery “What is the truth?” On the basis of the museum’s funds, whose staff bit by bit, including through correspondence with people who have been here and know something about this corner of the Chernihiv region, have collected information about Shevchenko farm, where N. N. Ge lived, the place of a special period of the artist’s life [1] .

In recent years, due to the small number of school-age children in the village and the high cost of maintaining and heating the historic school building, it was decided to reconstruct the building of the former house of culture (club) into an educational institution, where school classes are currently being held.

In the center of the village near the club there is a monument and a memorial wall with the names of Ivangorodts who died during the Great Patriotic War. On the old territory of the schoolyard there is another historical monument - to the heroes of the Civil War - whitewashed with a red star at the top and the words "Glory to the heroes, who drove into the fates of the enormous viniy".

The building of the bakery.

There is another attraction in the center of the village of Ivangorod - a bakery. Previously, the bakery worked on coal and supplied fresh bread to the whole village and region, later it became an electric bakery. At present, almost all bakery products in the village are imported.

Oster River. View of Zagrebly from the right bank.

On the river Oster within the territory of s. Ivangorod is located ameliorative reinforced concrete lock (dam), which is part of the drainage system of the Oster River (Trubezh drainage and humidification system) [2] . Earlier in the 60s of the XX century, the drainage lock was wooden, then it was replaced by reinforced concrete with metal gates. A few years ago, the reconstruction of the hydraulic structure was carried out. Within the village, in the river. Several small drainage drainage channels with control valves flow into Oster, most of which are currently in need of repair. In the river Oster in the village area by local residents catch crucian carp, gudgeon and other fish. The channel of the Oster River in the village for the most part is a straight section and has the shape of a channel with laid down sloping banks. The depth of the river is shallow - no more than 1.5 meters in the upper tail of the lock (in front of the dam - up to 1.7-1.8 m, in the area of the lower tail - less than a meter) and during most of the summer is characterized by an abundance of algae, however, on hot days on convenient sections of the approach to the water actively used for swimming children, youth and all comers.

Gregory Skins Street (formerly 1 Grass). Ahead of the remains of the church building.

One of the main streets of the village, running from east to west and previously known as May 1 (1 Travna) streets, now bears the name of a resident of s. Ivangorod - Grigory Musievich Shkury - the former director of the state farm of the village of Ivangorod in the 60s and 70s of the 20th century.

An interesting past at a rural hospital in Zagreb, built at the end of the 19th century. There is information that L. N. Tolstoy and N. N. Ge took part in its opening (and also, according to some information, with the financing of construction).

If you go along the highway to the Pliski railway station, then on the left side of the road you can see a high brick pipe (it is also visible from the northern part of the village), as well as the remains of the buildings of the brick factory. A description of the structures of the brick factory with the remaining remains of brick kilns with arched openings and underground galleries is given in the text dated August 24, 2011 [3]

Earlier in the 80s of the XX century (and earlier) on the other side of the highway opposite the territory of a brick factory, magnificent apple orchards extended, today - vegetable fields.

In the north-west of the village there are constructions of a state farm. Previously, the farm was used as a livestock farm for the divorce and maintenance of pigs, gobies, horses. Now the farm does not look widely in demand (at least in the framework of the former scale), although the buildings and structures of the farm with a water tower are well preserved and, apparently, are constantly maintained in working order, the farm is electrified, and in the prescribed manner gives milk to the state (there are livestock cows). In the meadows on the farm, you can often see grazing horses. In the fields adjacent to the village, mainly cereals and vegetables are grown, and agricultural machinery is actively used.

Since 2010, on the outskirts of the village began to operate an artificial pond, created on the basis of a farm - a farm, which is used by local residents and visitors to the farm for swimming and fishing.

Old photos of the village

Here are scanned photographs taken in the middle of the 20th century in the village of Ivangorod (on Trilis and the Oster River). This is how the courtyards of the village of Ivangorod looked in 50-60 years of the 20th century. Now huts-huts are found less and less, not only in Ivangorod, but throughout Ukraine.

Legends

There is an oral imparting to the locals. On the site of the village in the 13th century there was a monastery (in the area of Peshchany - one of the districts of the village). And during the raid, some steppe inhabitants were besieged. The forces were not equal, and when it became clear that the monastery could not be restrained, the monastic defenders gathered everything of value: gold, silver, furs, various other valuable utensils were put in three barrels and thrown into Oster. But the search for this treasure, among other things, was burdened with the search for the old river bed, since in the middle of the 20th century the river bed changed.

In the center of the village there was once a church in the pre-revolutionary years, ruins remained. In the basements there are underground passages littered with garbage.
