Biography

Aron Reznikov was born in the town of Tolochin near Minsk in the family of a future scientist in the field of material processing by cutting, Doctor of Technical Sciences Naum Iosifovich Reznikov , at that time a student of the mechanical department of the Warsaw Polytechnic Institute .

In 1928, the family moved to Kharkov , where Aron graduated from a seven-year school and engineering college. In 1932 he entered, and in 1938 he graduated with honors from the Kharkov Institute of Mechanical Engineering , worked as a process engineer at the Kharkov Textile Engineering Plant named after T. G. Shevchenko.

In October 1939 he entered the graduate school of the Kharkov Institute of Mechanical Engineering. In October 1941, he was evacuated to Alma-Ata , where he worked first as the chief engineer of the training and production workshops of the Kazakh Agricultural Institute, and since 1943 he was the chief engineer of the CCCP Defense Design Department of the People’s Commissariat of Defense, which was developing new designs of armored vehicles.

In 1944, he moved with his family to Kuibyshev , where he was reinstated in the graduate school of the Kuibyshev Industrial Institute and in 1945 he defended his thesis. He worked at the Kuibyshev Industrial Institute , where he went from assistant to dean of the Faculty of Mechanics. After defending his doctoral dissertation in 1959 on the topic “Temperature field and heat fluxes during metal cutting”, he headed the department “Metal-cutting machines and tools”.

The grave of Aron Reznikov

In 1967, he headed the newly created Togliatti Polytechnic Institute , which had previously been a branch of the Kuybyshev Polytechnic, and also became the head of the department "Cutting, Machine Tools and Tools" in the created institute. He became the first doctor of sciences in Togliatti . In 1979, he left the post of rector and focused on scientific work.

He died in 1999 . He was buried at the Banykinsky cemetery in Togliatti.

Activities

Aron Reznikov made a significant contribution to the formation and development of the theory of thermal processes when cutting materials with blade, abrasive-diamond cutting tools. He created a new direction in the theory of mechanical processing of materials - cutting thermophysics.

Over the years, he has published more than 240 works, including 11 monographs. Prepared more than 60 candidates of science.

Memory

  • In his honor, the International Scientific and Technical Conference "Reznikov Readings" is held. [one]

Ranks and Awards
