Nobuo Kojima ( Jap. 夫 Kojima Nobuo , February 28, 1915 , Gifu , Gifu Prefecture , Japan - October 26, 2006 ) - Japanese novelist , playwright , literary critic , essayist and translator of English-language literature.

He graduated from the University of Tokyo (Department of English Literature, Faculty of Philology, specialized in the work of William Thackeray ). After the end of the Pacific War, during which he served in northeastern China, he resumed teaching activities (he taught English and literature at Meiji University until 1985 ). As a writer, he debuted in 1953 with a collection of short stories “The Rifle”, where autobiographical motifs were strong. Prominent representative of the literary group " third new ". In addition to the Japanese literary tradition, Gogol , Dostoevsky and Kafka had a significant influence on the formation of the writer's own aesthetics. Winner of the Akutagawa awards ( 1954 ), Tanizaki ( 1970 ), Nomes ( 1983 ), Yomiuri ( 1997 ), and a number of other top literary awards in Japan. The story 「抱擁 家族」 has been translated twice into Russian (as "Family Circle" and as "Miwa Family").
