Gorlo White Sea [2] [3] or Gorlo [1] - a strait in the Arctic Ocean , separates the Tersky coast of the Kola Peninsula from the Winter coast of the mainland. It connects the main basin of the White Sea with the Funnel connecting the White Sea with the Barents .

The length is 160 km. Width from 46 to 93 km. The depth is generally less than 100 m. The greatest depth is 130 m [1] .
In the strait is the island of Sosnowiec . At the exit to the Funnel is the island of Morzhovets . Cape Red, Babi Nos, Nikodimsky ( Tersky coast ) and Voronov , Oleniy Nos, Megorsky Nose, Intsy, Medvezhy ( Winter coast ) stand out on the coast. The winter coast is high, steep; Tersky - gentle, swampy [4] .
The currents in the strait are directed to the north and have a speed of about 1 km / h. Significant tidal currents. In winter, it is covered with floating ice [1] .
The throat in the north of Russia is the strait connecting the inland sea or the gulf with the outer sea, hence the name [1] .
In the strait, fishing for sea fish and harp seals has been developed [1] . On the coast of the strait are the settlements Mayak Nikodimsky , Sosnovka (Tersky coast) and Veprevsky , Nizhny Zolotitsa , Tova , Intsy , Streams , Megra , Maida , Voronovsky (Winter coast).
The strait is located in the water area of the Arkhangelsk and Murmansk regions.
