Alexander Anatolyevich Shabalov (born September 12, 1967 , Riga ) is an American (formerly Soviet and Latvian ) chess player , grandmaster ( 1991 ). Four times won the US championships ( 1993 with A. Ermolinsky ; 2000/2001 together with J. Benjamin and Y. Seyravan ; 2003/2004 and 2007 )

Member of several All-Union tournaments of young masters, including in 1988 - 3-5th place. The best results in international competitions: Jurmala ( 1987 ) - 9-12th; Belgrade (1988) - 16-45th; Moscow ( 1989 ) - 51-77th places.
