Burun (field)

Burun is an oil and gas field in Turkmenistan . Located in the Balkan region , in the western part of the country. Opened in 1991. Included in the Turkmen oil project Nebitdag .

Refers to the West Turkmen oil and gas region .

Oil content is associated with deposits of the Pliocene age. The initial oil reserves are 50 million tons, and gas - 30 billion m³.

The operator of the field is the Italian oil company Eni . Until November 2007, the British oil company Burren Energy was the operator of the field. Oil production in 2008 amounted to 0.7 million tons.
