Kozlov

The Kozlovs are Russian noble families . There were many noble families of the Kozlovs of various origins.

Oprichniki Ivan the Terrible (1573) were: Gregory and Molchan Subotiny Kozlov [1] .

When submitting documents (1686) for introducing the genus into the Velvet Book , two genealogical paintings were provided by Artemy and Karp Kozlov [2] .

This family of the Kozlovs dates back to the middle of the 16th century - Ivan Posnikov, the son of Kozlov, (d. 1625), who was granted an estate in the Nizhny Novgorod district for the Moscow siege seat. From one of his descendants, a retired ensign and leader of the nobility Gorbatov Fedor Dmitrievich Kozlov, a branch went:

  • Kozlov, Pavel Fedorovich (1776-182?) - Actual State Councilor ; was married to maid of honor Ekaterina Nikolaevna Arsenyeva ;
    • Kozlov, Alexander Pavlovich (1802-1857) - lieutenant general ;
      • Kozlov, Alexander Alexandrovich (1837-1924) - Lieutenant General , Moscow Chief Police Officer , Chief Police Officer of St. Petersburg, Moscow Governor General (1905);
      • Kozlov, Pavel Alexandrovich (1842-1891) - major general ; since 1864 he was the adjutant’s adjutant of Tsarevich Nikolai Alexandrovich , and later the adjutant and closest friend of Tsarevich Alexander Alexandrovich (future emperor Alexander III ).
    • Kozlov, Alexei Pavlovich (1813—?) - staff captain ;

Filat Kozlov came from the peasants of the Ruzsky district . He entered the service in 1711, and from 1728 he was grenadier of the Life Guards of the Preobrazhensky Regiment . [3]

While in the Life Campaign, on December 31, 1741, on the personal decree of the Empress Empress Elizabeth Petrovna , he was granted hereditary noble dignity.

The coat of arms of Kozlov is included in Part 2 of the General Tombstone of the noble families of the All-Russian Empire , No. 137 [4] :

 The shield is divided perpendicularly into two parts, of which in the right in the black field between the three silver pentagonal Stars there is a golden Rafter, with the three burning Grenades marked on it in natural color. On the left side in a silver box up to half the red color is a Goat having Horn, Beard and Legs are black. The shield is crowned with an ordinary Noble Helmet, on which the Life Campaign grenadier Hat with ostrich feathers red and white is placed, and on the sides of this Hat there are two black eagle Wings and three silver Stars on them. The mark on the shield is red and black, lined on the right side with silver, and with the left gold. 

Also, the coat of arms of the grenadier Filat Kozlov was included in the Life Campaign coat of arms compiled by S. N. Troitsky .

This kind of Kozlovs comes from a native of Prus, Prushanin, Mikhail - the ancestor of the Morozovs , Saltykovs , Scriabin and others.

The ancestor of this kind of Kozlovs was Grigory Ignatievich Morozov - nicknamed the “Goat”.

His son, Ivan, accompanied in 1495 to Lithuania Grand Duchess Elena Ivanovna , the bride of Grand Duke of Lithuania Alexander .

This genus is included in part 6 (ancient noble births) of the genealogy of the Tver and Pskov provinces .

This genus of the Kozlovs, of the same origin as the Beklemishevs , Zmeevs and others, originates from the legendary “husband is honest with Leo,” who “traveled from Prussia to the land in 1393 . Prince Vasily Dmitrievich . ”
