It is located in the south-eastern part of the region, 37 km south-west of Ugra , 17 km west of the Znamenka - Spas-Demensk highway , on the banks of the Uzhrept River. At 14 km south of the village is the railway station O.p. 465th km on the line Smolensk - Sukhinichi .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in October 1941 , liberated in March 1943 . [one]
