Avdeenkova Evdokia Efimovna (Boburova) 1911-1992, was born and lived in the village of Khatuni from 1911-1941 before the occupation. Here she was born, and her parents lived here. Podzdne in the 30s, Evdokia Efimovna was appointed chairman of the collective farm. In the late 30s, repression found many in the village, including her father and brother. She continued to live here until the war. According to her, it is known that after the breakthrough of the defense and the retreat of the Soviet troops in October 1941, two cars and armored personnel carriers with the Nazis arrived in the village. The male population at that time was no longer in the village - everyone went to the front. Women and children were expelled from the huts, they set fire to all the houses in the village and drove on without spending an hour in the village. The daughter of Evdokia Efimovna later told how a burning house was cut in memory and how a mother pulled out a chest with warm clothes from the smoked canopy and how they sat on this chest - a mother and three children, looking at the dying house and falling snow. Subsequent war years they lived in the surrounding forests in the dugout. After the liberation of the Smolensk region, it was not possible to restore the house. The family moved to Yartsevo where Evdokia Efimovna lived and worked until the end of her days. Her daughter Raisa Pavlovna several times returned to Khatun, dreaming of building a house here and moving to live in it. But these plans were not destined to come true. The village gradually became desolate and so far only conditional borders have remained from it.
