It is located in the central part of the region 5 km north-west of Yartsev , 5 km north of the Belarus highway M1 , on the banks of the Hatvenka River. 6 km south of the village is the Yartsevo railway station on the Moscow - Minsk line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in July 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
