It is located in the southwestern part of the region, 6 km northwest of Shumyachy , 12 km north of the A101 Moscow-Warsaw highway (Old Poland or Warsaw), on the banks of the Sukremenka River. 15 km southeast of the village is the Ponyatovka railway station on the Roslavl - Krichev line .

History

During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in August 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
