It is located in the southwestern part of the region, 14 km southeast of Shumyachy , 12 km south of the A101 Moscow-Warsaw highway ("Old Polish" or "Warsaw"), on the banks of the Borovitsa River. 7 km northwest of the village is the Ponyatovka railway station on the Roslavl - Krichev line .
History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by Nazi troops in August 1941 , liberated in September 1943 . [one]
